It is not considered as a new legal entity, and therefore, the liability of the company relays back to the mother company.<\/p><h4><strong>Activities<\/strong><\/h4><ul data-rte-list=\"default\"><li><p class=\"\">A foreign branch is permitted to provide similar business activities, furthermore, the business will be registered with the Department of Economic Development with the existing trade name.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><ul data-rte-list=\"default\"><li><p class=\"\">A Representative Office is not permitted to trade or provide services. The primary purpose of a representative office is to promote the parents companies\u2019 services.\u00a0<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/h4><p class=\"\">A foreign branch is required to appoint a local service agent. A Local Service Agent, does not hold any shares in the company, nor can the LSA acquire control on the day to day business operations. The primary purpose of the LSA is to act as a representative \u2013 without any civil responsibility or monetary compulsions.\u00a0<\/p><h4><strong>Notes<\/strong><\/h4><p class=\"\">As the Foreign branch is an extension of the parent company, this means that foreign entity will be liable to pay tax \u2013 in line with the parent companies location and jurisdiction.<\/p><p class=\"\">A foreign branch\/ Representative Office is required to register with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moec.gov.ae\/en\/registration-of-a-branch-of-foreign-company?p_l_back_url=%2Fsearch-results%3Fq%3DOpen%2520Data%26delta%3D40%26start%3D7\">Ministry of Economy (MoE<\/a>). As part of the registration, the branch office must provide a refundable bank guarantee of AED 50,000 \u2013 which is held during the time of the licence.
